To begin with, Aberdeen are one of the biggest football teams in Scotland. Of course they play their home games at the famous Pittodrie Stadium. Indeed, the stadium produces a great atmosphere when full. The capacity of Pittodrie is 20,866 and the fans are indeed very passionate.
Aberdeen play at home in a red strip, hence their nickname, The Reds. However they have a few other nicknames namely, The Dons and The Dandies. The club came into existence in 1903 and of course have always used Pittodrie.
Aberdeen have won many honours including the top flight League four times. Also they have won the Scottish Cup seven times and the Scottish League Cup six times. However, they have won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup too.
Geographically, Aberdeen’s rivals are indeed Peterhead, Brechin City, Montrose, Arbroath, Elgin City and Forfar Athletic. But, they are rarely in the same league so the club looks further afield for this sort of thing.
