Club Information, In Brief
To begin with, Bristol Rovers play in blue and white at their home ground of Memorial Stadium. Indeed, the stadium has a decent capacity of 12,296 for a lower league football club. Moreover, the club has two nicknames of The Pirates and The Gas. The atmosphere in the Memorial Stadium can be very noisy indeed as the supporters are fanatical.
Although Bristol Rovers came into existence in 1883, the club have very few major honours to speak of. But in 1972, Bristol Rovers did win the Watney Cup which was a competition at that time. However, the club is famous enough if just in name alone. Obviously, Bristol Rovers’ main rivals are Bristol City and the Bristol Derby is always one to look out for. However, Swindon Town, Cheltenham Town, Plymouth Argyle, Exeter City and Yeovil Town all form some sort of rivalry.
