Club Information, In Brief
To begin with, most people refer to Hibernian simply as Hibs. Indeed, Hibs play their home games at the Easter Road stadium in north Edinburgh. With a capacity of 20,421, the Hibs fans make a terrific noise. Hibs still reflect their roots of an Irish immigrant connection. However, apart from the colours, badge and name, the club is fast loosing this connection. Indeed, with far too many local supporters nowadays, this link is purely historical.
Obviously, their rivalry is with the other Edinburgh football club, Hearts. Hibernian and Hearts indeed compete in the Edinburgh derby. Nicknames for the club are Hibs and The Hibees, they also have the name of The Cabbage too.
Indeed, up to 2017, Hibs have won the top Scottish League 4 times and the Scottish Cup 3 times. Also Hibs have won the Scottish League Cup 3 times too. With many minor honours and many runners up medals, the club has a decent history.
Finally, Hibs came into existence in 1875.
