Club Information, In Brief
To begin with, this football club is very young in terms of professional football. Back in 1994, the club came about due to a merger between Caledonian FC and Inverness Thistle FC. This was because of a reconstruction in the Scottish Football League system allowing two more teams to join. In fact, the Inverness merger was successful and together with Ross County, they entered the league system. Moreover, the two clubs play out the Highland derby which is the most northerly derby in the UK.
Since their short formation, Inverness CT have won the second tier in the Scottish Leagues two times. In fact, Inverness CT have also won the Scottish Cup in 2015 too! Also, as well as winning the Scottish Challenge Cup, the club has a host of minor honours.
After knocking Celtic out of the Scottish Cup twice in 2000 & 2003, there was a brilliant headline in the Sun Newspaper. Indeed, the paper is in a picture frame at the club. Obviously the headline reads, Super Caley Go Ballistic Celtic Are Atrocious.
Indeed, Inverness play their home games at the Caledonian Stadium, which has a decent capacity of 7,750. However, the merger has allowed the club to create a special atmosphere. Finally, the club has three nicknames of Caley Thistle, Caley Jags and The Pride of the Highlands.
