Club Information, In Brief
To begin with, Reading have no big honours to speak of. However, they have won the lower league titles and have been runners up quite a few times. But the club has won the London War Cup in 1941 and the Full Members Cup in 1988. Indeed, Reading hold the title for the highest number of points for a season with a total of 106 in 2005/06. The club came into existence in 1871 but did not join the league system until 1920.
Reading has the nickname of The Royals but they did use The Biscuitmen previously. Local rivalries include Oxford United and Swindon Town although Aldershot was the club’s main rivals.
Finally, Reading play their home games in the Madejski Stadium which has a capacity of 24,161. Indeed, the ground can create a terrific atmosphere when full. Obviously, Reading played their football at Elm Park until 1998.
